Another remarkable event last year was the launch of the Veterinary Defence Association in the USA. This is the first and only veterinary defence organization in the USA.
The VDA simultanously announced the beginnings of the first veterinarian member-owned insurance company, which will suppy malpractice, license defense and other insurance cover to US veterinarians as an alternative to AVMA-PLIT and other veterinary insurance schemes.
