K-Laser USA will now be known as Summus Medical Laser.

The renaming accompanies the Nashville-based company’s growing interest in the laser therapy market, reflecting its updated technology offerings and refined user interfaces, Summus Medical Laser says.

“’Summus’ in Latin, means ‘the highest of all, superior, best of the best,’” says CEO Richard Albright. “[The name] reflects our commitment to the highest level of service, the greatest user experience, and continuous innovation in our laser products—such as integration with cloud technology for practice management—[that equip] our providers with the best of the best.”

Also called photobiomodulation, high-intensity laser therapy is gaining popularity with veterinarians for various applications, including musculoskeletal therapy, cancer radiation, and chemotherapy relief.

Summus Medical Laser’s flagship Class IV therapy lasers, the Platinum Seriesä, deliver specific red and near-infrared wavelengths of laser light to induce a photochemical reaction and therapeutic effect. Physiological effects include increased circulation, reduced inflammation, pain reduction, and enhanced tissue healing.
