 Mental health training is not such a radical idea. Various forms of mandated training already exist and are required within the practice. For example, OSHA training requirements must be met, and mandated sexual harassment training is required in some states. What if mental health first-aid training was also one of the requirements? Leadership is an incredibly active role; the jobs and tasks change daily, month-to-month, year-to-year. It is hard to envision adding one more thing to the team leader’s plate; however, consider the ramifications of not having a plan of action ready when a team member is in crisis.
