At least 1 in 4 of those cats have concurrent hypersomatotropism (HS-DM). The treatment, prognosis, progression and monitoring of cats with DM and HS-DMcan be vastly different and therefore differentiating the two causes is critical. If you are waiting for classic acromegalic phenotype or excessive insulin requirements before diagnosing, you are missing many of these cats. In this session: Jocelyn Mott, DVM, DACVIM (SAIM), FACVIM (feline and canine diabetes), discusses diagnosis, management, treatment goals and monitoring cats with hypersomatotropism and diabetes mellitus (HS-DM). wistia-player[media-id='nr6nuthb9w']:not(:defined) { background: center / contain no-repeat url('https://fast.wistia.com/embed/medias/nr6nuthb9w/swatch'); display: block; filter: blur(5px); padding-top:56.25%; }
