The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Robenacoxib Injection, the first generic version of the NSAID Onsior, for controlling postoperative pain and inflammation in dogs and cats aged four months and older.

The drug can be used in dogs after soft-tissue surgery and in cats after orthopedic surgery, spaying, or neutering. Robenacoxib Injection contains the same active ingredient as the brand-name product and has been deemed bioequivalent. The injectable NSAID is prescription-only and may be administered once daily for up to three days.
