Answer: It is important to draw up the lidocaine first. If you drew bupivacaine first, you might inadvertently cause some bupivacaine to end up inside the lidocaine vial. Lidocaine is not only used for local blocks. It is also used to treat VPCs. Injecting bupivacaine IV is not ideal because it is a cardiotoxic drug. Did you get it right? Let us know in the comments.
