Description

This 2-day practical course provides equine practitioners with a good overview on all medical, orthopedic, dental and surgical aspects specific to donkeys allowing participants to not only expand their knowledge but especially their hands-on skillset. Through the following lectures the highly experienced speakers will highlight how different donkeys are from horses and will share useful tips and tricks with the attendees:

Between both afternoons, 7 hours of practical sessions on live donkeys and cadaver specimens and case-based discussions will give attendees plenty of opportunity to put theory into practice and to ask questions in small groups (2 – 4 attendees / ultrasound machine). Each attendee will rotate through the following practical sessions under the watchful eye of the internationally renowned specialists:

Abdominal Ultrasound
Donkey Dentistry – Diagnostic Techniques
Donkey Dentistry – Therapeutic Techniques
Devising Treatment Protocols for Donkeys
Foot Examination & Trimming
Hyperlipemia Workshop
Anesthesia – Case-based Protocols
Dealing with the Laminitic Donkey

The course fee includes lunches at a restaurant, coffee/tea breaks, a wine & cheese reception, extensive electronic course notes and a certificate of attendance. Attendees can choose to only attend the lectures (= Lectures Only) on this course or can register for the entire course (= Lectures & Practical Sessions).
