2020 NC State CVM Wildlife, Avian, Aquatic, and Zoological Medicine Symposium Date/Time Apr 25, 2020 to Apr 26, 2020 8:00 AM until 5:30 PM Description Please join the NC State CVM Wildlife, Avian, Aquatic, and Zoological Medicine Club (WAAZM) in hosting its inaugural symposium in wildlife, zoological and exotic medicine on April 24-26, 2020. The speaker lineup will feature a variety of specialists in this field, including multiple boarded zoo specialists for lecture presentations as well as a multitude of hands-on labs. The theme for the symposium is Diversity is Our Specialty, and the lecture topics are diverse indeed! Spend the morning learning about aquatic animal medicine with a lecture on sea turtle medicine and large whale strandings, followed up with an afternoon learning about wild elephant conservation. In between, take a look inside small mammals with a radiology lecture or learn about how cancer affects these unique species. Lab sessions will offer hands on opportunities to dive into the world of rabbit and rodent dentistry, learn the ins and out of wildlife trapping, as well as learn to repair a turtle’s shell! Come explore the world of unique animal medicine with us here at the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine while earning continuing education credits and meeting a symposium full of new friends and colleagues!
