A California-based pet accessory brand is helping dogs and cats in need following the state’s devastating wildfires. Woodrow Wear is donating more than 500 sets of its ‘Power Paws’ nonslip pet socks to companion animals. “Woodrow Wear was started to help people and pets. We’re deeply grateful to be able to keep injured paws safe, to provide comfort, and to help with healing,” said Lorraine Walston, the brand’s founder and chief executive officer. The paw-protecting socks are intended to help keep wounds clean and provide warmth and traction to senior pets and those with mobility issues. Further, they are made to protect against adverse weather—both extreme cold and hot—and allergens. Veterinarians and shelter workers plan to use the socks to help heal injuries and provide traction on slippery surfaces for older dogs or those who have paw bandages. Woodrow WearThe brand also created a GoFundMe page to help fund further donations to aid pets injured in the Woolsey Fire, Hill Fire, and Camp Fire.
