Dechra, a veterinary pharmaceutical company, has announced nearly $80,000 in charitable donations to 24 nonprofit organizations across the United States through its employee-driven Charitable Giving Program, with two animal-focused organizations receiving the largest awards. This year, Heartland Therapeutic Riding, Inc. and Muttville Senior Dog Rescue were selected as the program’s top recipients, each receiving $10,000. The organizations were chosen by Dechra’s U.S. Giving Committee for their work strengthening the human-animal bond through therapy, rescue, and adoption initiatives. Photo courtesy Dechra Heartland Therapeutic Riding, Inc., based near Kansas City, Mo., provides equine-assisted services for individuals with disabilities and diverse needs. The organization was nominated by Dechra employee Jenn Schwanke, who cited both its community impact and her personal volunteer experience. According to Heartland, the donation will help expand access to programs that support participants’ physical and emotional well-being. Muttville Senior Dog Rescue team. California’s first senior dog rescue organization specializes in rescuing and rehoming older dogs, helping provide companionship and improved quality of life for adopters and pets alike. An additional 22 nonprofits will each receive approximately $2,700. Dechra said the awards reflect its commitment to supporting employee-selected causes and strengthening communities through charitable giving.
