The University of Guelph Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) has named Tarek Saleh, Ph.D., as chair of the Department of Biomedical Sciences. His appointment is set to begin September 1.

Dr. Saleh is currently a professor and chair of the Department of Biomedical Science at the University of Prince Edward Island’s Atlantic Veterinary College.

“Tarek brings significant experience to this position, having led successful research teams and mentored many early-career faculty and graduate students,” said Jeffrey Wichtel, BVSc, Ph.D., dean of the OVC.

He said Saleh is a well-respected investigator in neuroscience and cardiovascular research with extensive teaching experience.

“I look forward to working with Tarek in his role as chair to continue to build successful interdisciplinary research teams and enhance our teaching and learning opportunities in both the DVM, undergraduate and graduate programs at OVC,” Dr. Wichtel said.
