Obi's unexpected passenger

Obi's X-rays had the veterinary team doing a double-take. Rather than an indistinct outline of an intestinal foreign body, the radiographs revealed the remarkably recognizable silhouette of a tiny bear—or perhaps a sloth—taking an unauthorized ride through his gastrointestinal tract. The little character had become lodged in the dog's small intestine, causing an obstruction. Obi underwent general anesthesia and an enterotomy to remove his unexpected passenger. Fortunately, Obi's surgery and recovery were uncomplicated. After supportive care and pain management, he headed home to continue recovering—with one less toy in his collection and a very memorable X-ray on his record.
