Tom and Wendy Frankmann decided to build their own animal hospital, the Animal Clinic of Chardon went from its original 2,400 sq. ft. to nearly 7,000 sq. ft. The new clinic has separate entrances and exam rooms for dogs and cats. Working with Live Oak Bank of Wilmington, N.C., the Frankmanns designed and built a clinic that allowed them to add services such as the Learning Center, where staff meetings and client classes are held. In addition to expanded cat and dog boarding areas, the clinic now has a play area for two-legged children, whose parents can watch them from the dog exam rooms. Due to the area’s variable weather, one of the new services the clinic offers is a self-serve dog wash, providing clients the convenience to bathe their pets on the premises.
